On a total roof replacement you do need a permit. Our company handles pulling the permit and scheduling all necessary inspections with your city or county. Having a permit insures that the work is being done correctly and will be inspected by an independent person who will sign off on the work.
Exterior Work-
For exterior work that is being replaced with like for like material you don’t need a permit. For example: if a window is broken you can replace it with the same size window and not need a permit. If a window is broken and you decide that you want to make the window opening bigger then you would have to have a permit because you are changing the structure of the home.
